Textile Waste
Every year, the UK sends 1,200,000 tonnes of textiles to landfill. Of that 1.2 million tonnes, approximately 350,000 tonnes are items of clothing. About 5% of landfill space is taken up by textile waste. Textile production releases 2 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere annually.
Our Fabrics
We carefully source remnant fabrics from our partners and warehouses in the UK. We use cottons and linens to make our products. We do not use buttons, trimmings or fastenings. With over 8,000 fabric warehouses in the UK, there is plenty of fabric already in circulation so all of our product runs are limited edition and truly unique.
We Take Sustainability Seriously
Every part of our business is deeply considered with sustainability and circularity in mind. From the fabrics we source and the fair wages we pay our Crafters to the eco-friendly packaging we use to ship your products.
Our packaging is crafted from fully recyclable recycled paper. We use recycled tissue paper and biodegradable, plant-based stickers without swing tags to minimise paper and card waste. Each piece is individually signed by the woman who made it, along with its edition number. Once we have finished the bolt of remnant fabric it is made from, it's gone - so you can be reassured you have a truly unique piece.
